Media Dreaming
‘Media Dreaming’ is a body of work that looks at the overload and throw away culture of media. By using collage, a chaotic dreamlike scene is created to imagine how an overload of information received from media sources are processed. The material used is a mash-up of paintings and found imagery which is then photocopied to give a sense of a trivial sameness. The images come together as the familiar and unfamiliar to produce a collection of absurd scenes, while other images become so fragmented they are almost unrecognisable. The collage is directly pasted to the wall allowing the lifespan of the work to last only for the duration of the exhibition, it becomes obsolete along with the media used to produce it.
