Behind the bar

In this project I am taking my work colleagues out of their regular working environment and bringing them into the studio to take their portraits. They pose in their work clothes with their hands behind their backs to indicate that they are working in the hospitality industry. Despite the fact that they are wearing a uniform, they are each individually themselves and take on the camera with a strong gaze. All of these participants work in an industry notorious for its long working hours. I am interested in the representation of labour and how the subject presents his or herself to the camera, as though they are all about to about to start their shift.
