Sense

Sense is an essential oil diffuser designed specifically for caring environments where the elderly live. Sense uses three different oils throughout the day, Each oil is released prior to each of the three main meals of the day. Stimulating patients prior to their meal times can create a supportive environment and increase food intake among patients. Sense automatically creates a supportive environment throughout out the day, motivating patients to eat more at meal times by reducing the number of responsive behaviours building up to mealtimes. Each dial has a setting of either constant on or off, there are then timer options for each fragrance release point. The fourth dial controls the intensity of the fragrance which is released. The user sets up the timer dials depending on the patient’s meal times. The fragrance is then released an hour prior to the meal stimulating the patient’s senses and creating anticipation for the meal.
