Ornj

Ornj is a paper-based modular journal that helps keep creatives organised and connected to their thoughts in a more meaningful way. Detachable booklets magnetically snap together and can be used in different configurations. When a booklet is finished, it can be scanned and the contents are assigned metadata so thoughts are never lost. Ornj was conceived in response to the noise creatives experience when working with digital organisers. Thoughts kept on paper often got lost or damaged over time. Ornj attempts to emphasise the value of physical writing in the design process. Pages contain a title, date, and category marker which can be scanned and read by the accompanying application through existing scanned images on the desktop application. Scans are automatically named and organised in a folder structure, so users can find the information they need through a simple search. The physical copies can be kept to build a physical legacy of work over the years.
