The Unabomber Manifesto

This project was submitted based on a brief to design a book cover based on a specific genre. The genre I chose was true crime and following the release of the TV series by Netflix “Manhunt: Unabomber” I began to explore the 35,000-word essay written by the Unabomber, later learned to be Ted Kaczynski, about the political philosophies he claimed motivated him to perform his acts of domestic terrorism. The Unabomber Manifesto was printed in The Washington Post and The New York Times in its entirety in 1995. The manifesto itself is largely concerned with how society is affected by technology, particularly modern, industrial technology. Titled "Industrial Society and Its Future". I designed a photographic essay in book form with emphasis on the text and explored the “Manifesto” visually and typographically to express the motives behind the man.
