Psychedelic Bloom

For my graduate display, I chose to design it based off a trend for S/S 18 called “Psychotropical”, which has been an impactful trend in many windows; however, it is all too often executed with too much similarity or repetitiveness. Therefore, I wanted to individually pick apart the ideas of “psychedelia” and the “tropics”, in order to create my own interpretation and twist on the trend. With my interpretation, I aimed to engage potential customers and have them in awe of something that is different and peculiar at first, but equally fascinating and mesmerising. Everything from the choice of the mannequin’s outfit and style, to the flower’s shape and colour, and other coordinated props reflects back to the idea of a summer full of colour, festivals, hypnotic dancing, and blooming flowers in the sun.
