A Spring Vision
My final year Major Project installation was displayed in Dunnes Stores in Henry Street. I wanted to create a playful vision between a mother and a child during Springtime. I aimed to draw consumers in by creating a moment that almost everyone can relate to at some stage in their life.
The WGSN trend Homespun was the focal point of this window. Homespun highlights sustainable practices such as slow crafting; this can be seen throughout my display as I created plaited ropes for the swing and several floor-length plaits. My colour palette included neutral tones with a pop of colour. I wanted the colours to flow calmly from the gold rope included in the props to my chosen outfits. I chose an eye-catching gold shirt from Paul Costelloe Living Studio paired with a printed satin skirt from Gallery for the mannequin.
