Project 1: H2O I Do

My time in TUDublin was very creative. I learned a lot during my time on the BA Visual merchandising course; the different techniques of styling and the trends, both past and present, that I use can in my future career in Visual Merchandising.

For my final year, Major Project display I contacted a local charity shop in Phibsboro. The CASA charity shop wanted a WOW factor window; they recently received liquidation wedding dresses, so they were ideal for creating a display for their window.

While making this, Ireland went into level 5 lockdown; therefore, I needed to get creative with what I had at home; with stores closed I had to find solutions. Everything was recycled or reusable items.

This window is to inspire wedding ideas in these challenging times. The beautiful pearls and custom hand-cut paper using a quilting technique, giving texture and a wave look to the dress, is something different for a wedding but offers ideas and a way of planning wedding themes.

In the current times, brides do not have the option of large weddings, so it is inspiring them to a uniquely personal experience with a smaller wedding, so they can still feel special and can have a wow dress and get creative with their choice and that brides are still being considered in displays.
