Once Home is a short film that captures a moment in time and reminisces on the past. It follows a woman as she looks at what home means to us as we evolve and mature. It also explores how we become detached from our homes as we age with commentary on those who feel left behind.
I was inspired to make Once Home as the town where I grew up and still live is sadly emptying out, as everyone is moving abroad due to Ireland's current housing crisis. I wanted this film to capture a moment in time that many people experience. It explores feeling lost and reliving fond memories while trying to find your own path. I hope people can relate to this film no matter where they are from.
