My name is Leon McEvoy, and I am an actor, poet and writer. I have passion for art, theatre, literature, music and most of all people. I draw inspiration from the people around me and use all my experiences to shape and influence the work I want to do. I believe that we need to continue the oral tradition of storytelling that is inside our DNA. Growing up, I moved around a lot, so I happily call a lot of places home. I am currently based in Dublin and Carlow. Over my time in the Conservatoire at TU Dublin, I have developed a new and profound sense of curiosity.
Going forward in my career, I want to explore movement practices and look at contributing to the Irish theatre sector. I aim to perform, as well as write plays centered around the realities of human experience. My research project centered around the relationship between theatre and trauma, and I believe both things are symbiotic within the historical context of the Irish experience. Furthermore, I want to educate myself further and explore European theatre. I am open to collaborating with like-minded individuals on future projects across all forms of media.
