Film and Broadcasting

Britney Madondo

Hi there! My name is Britney Madondo, and I am a graduate of the BA in Film and Broadcasting. I have always been curious about the world around me and have had a desire to ask deeper questions about the people living in it. It is for this reason that I am specialising in Radio Broadcasting and Podcast studies. This specialisation has opened many doors for me and has landed me accolades such as Radio DJ of the Year at the SMEDIAS in 2024. I have also had the opportunity to interview people from various backgrounds and cultures, and I hope to continue to do this by expanding on my radio presenting and producing skills as well as deepening my love for producing all things film and TV. I am grateful to this course for igniting a passion of mine I have had from a small age and for creating the space where I can turn my dreams into a reality! I look forward to seeing where the future will take me.

Looking Over the Shoulder

This radio documentary explores the topic of women’s safety and the day-to-day anxieties we face. This documentary hosted by Britney Madondo follows the story of 4 women who shared the stories of times in their lives when their safety was tested, and their vulnerability was on a high because of their gender. Looking Over the Shoulder explores the fear that women face when doing simple things such as walking down the street, taking public transport and the fear, and even in their own household. It reveals the quiet calculations and survival instincts every woman has experienced at least once in their lives.
