Juliana Cooper

I have primarily worked as Director of Photography over the past four years, as well as in the sound departments. I also wrote and directed two short films named Headphones and Object of Affection.
I received the opportunity to study journalism in Utrecht, where I developed a practice in news writing for print and radio. In addition to scriptwriting and journalism, I also write fiction, and am incredibly proud to have won the SMEDIA for Short Story of the Year 2024 with my piece ‘One Minute For Love’. After college, I hope to direct and work as a DOP. I also have plans to produce a radio documentary with a friend I met in TUD's final year journalism. To me, college is about meeting people who you get on with and can learn from. I have met so many inspiring people over the past four years.

One Minute For Love (short story)

One Minute For Love is a short story about Éanna and Chelsea, a young couple from Tallaght. Their love shields one another from their surrounding world of drug use, poverty, and classism.
The story takes place over a few minutes in their lives, as Chelsea discovers that her older sister stole her new pair of shoes. The story has a poetic style, reading almost as a song.
