Though filmmaking was not always the path I had envisioned for myself, I have always had an interest in both the creative and technical worlds. Before joining this course, I was pursuing a degree in engineering and hoping to find a way to fuse my interest in mechanics and computing with my longtime love of the arts in writing, painting, and musical composition. I changed course after becoming fascinated with the production stories and film school days of directors I admired, realising that the medium of film was an intersection of all these seemingly disparate passions and provided the opportunity to work closely with fellow creatives.
Throughout my time here I have applied myself in writing, directing, cinematography, editing, and sound design. I love working on films with unique perspectives expressed through the relationships between the camera, its subjects, and the sounds of their world. I have been lucky enough to work across the documentary and drama forms as a director, where my true passion lies, but I have also loved collaborating with other directors as a cinematographer and editor. My aim is always to generate fully realised worlds for an audience to live inside of and hopefully create an unforgettably unique experience.
