Grad X

Siriana Assunta Loughran

Throughout this degree, I had the opportunity to explore and develop my skills in multiple areas of media production. I chose to specialise in documentary production as I was particularly drawn to the medium's ability to capture authenticity and important stories in the real world. Due to the nature of documentary filmmaking, I familiarised myself with many roles, including directing, producing, editing, camera operating, production sound recording, post-sound mixing and dubbing. During my final year, I was fortunate to direct and produce my own documentary, Life After Loss and work on other productions as a producer, editor and sound recordist.

Life After Loss was screened in the Lighthouse cinema as a part of the DU Film Festival and was nominated for Documentary of the Year at the Smedias Awards. After college, I hope to continue working in the documentary industry as part of a production company, elevate my skills and expand my network.
