Film and Broadcasting

Tegan Denniston

Hi, I’m Tegan Denniston, graduating with a BA in Film and Broadcasting from TU Dublin.

I didn’t always know what I wanted to do after secondary school, but I knew I loved being creative, writing, and working with people. Film was something I fell into, but it quickly became my passion, the perfect medium that blends artistic expression with collaboration and problem-solving.

Over the past four years, I’ve developed a strong passion for writing and directing. Whether that be writing and directing solo projects or assistant directing with my peers, I love shaping stories from the ground up and working with others to bring them to life on screen. This course has helped me nurture my voice as a writer, and given me the tools to grow more confident as a director.

At the same time, I’ve built my technical skills, learning to work with sound equipment, cameras, and editing software. Having that hands-on experience has deepened my appreciation for all areas of the process and made me a more well-rounded filmmaker.

My passion for the medium also led me to help reestablish the TU Dublin Film Society with students from various year groups and courses. It’s been incredibly fulfilling to bring together people from all disciplines who share a love for film. Creating that sense of community has meant so much to me, and I’m excited to carry that same energy into the industry.
