Hi! I'm David Abaya, an indie game developer who loves experimenting and learning on the fly. I'm always trying new things—whether it's coding mechanics from scratch, designing quirky puzzles, or building unique worlds—and Legend of the Hero Slime has been a perfect way to showcase that spirit.
This retro-inspired action-adventure is a playground of ideas, blending fun combat, environmental storytelling, and evolving level design. Every part of the game reflects my curiosity and drive to improve, from AI scripting to balancing boss fights and crafting charming pixel art.
While Legend of the Hero Slime has been an amazing learning experience, it's also a stepping stone toward my dream project: a magnum opus that fuses TCG mechanics, RPG progression, and visual novel storytelling. I'm deeply passionate about games that mix genres in creative ways and keep players engaged through choice, strategy, and narrative depth.
I love sharing my progress through devlogs and connecting with other creators who are also pushing their limits. Every project teaches me something new—and that’s the part I enjoy most.

Legend of the Hero Slime is a pixel-inspired action-adventure game that follows a determined slime on a quest to become a legendary hero. Players will explore a whimsical yet dangerous world, taking on clever puzzles, challenging bosses, and quirky enemies using abilities like blade slashes, slime shots, and elemental powers. Each level is carefully crafted to introduce new mechanics—from pushing blocks and navigating fog mazes to solving environmental challenges with fire and ice. The game’s world evolves with the player’s progress, featuring a quest hub village, branching dungeons, and narrative stones that reveal the history of the Sword Hero and the forest’s secrets. With stylized visuals inspired by voxel and retro games, catchy chiptune music, and playful dialogue, Legend of the Hero Slime balances charm and challenge.
