Game Design

Elunga Mkunde

My name is Elunga Mkunde, I am 23-year-old. I have a variety of interests and hobbies beyond game design. I play the piano, enjoy video games, and find creative expression through drawing. Reading is another passion of mine, and I maintain an active lifestyle by working out and playing football, all while being a Barcelona fan. I appreciate the importance of teamwork and strategy, and I value helping others. Additionally, I have a keen interest in world history.
During my studies, I led teams to develop engaging game projects across various genres, including action-adventure, puzzle games, board games, and educational games. Notably, my team won an in-class award for the most marketable game. I served as project coordinator, leading design, feature implementation, and quality control while contributing 3D assets and animations. My final year dissertation explored player resonance with biblical narratives in RPGs and Action-Adventure games, revealing the impact of meaningful connections and personal beliefs. I am eager to contribute my skills and passion to new game development opportunities and am committed to continuous learning to become a skilled game director.

For the final year game design course, we were assigned a major game project that could be completed individually or in a group. I decided to work on this project independently. This choice allowed me to showcase the comprehensive knowledge and practical skills I have gained throughout the course, particularly in game production, design, management, art design, and 3D modelling. My experience managing significant group projects has prepared me to design and create a game for my final year project while enabling me to continue learning and improving in this new context.

Lost in Zania

Lost in Zania is an adventure story-driven social interactive game that combines genres from RPGs, story-driven, adventure, and sports games. It offers a new game design and gameplay experience to players. Where players’ actions and consequences occur in real-time. Throughout the story and game, players must skillfully interact and overcome demanding situations when encountering or conversing with characters. Game mechanics, like the trust gauge, are implemented to enhance the character’s behavioral dynamics, to make each encounter experience feel natural. It is designed with a reactive approach where everything players do influences the game world.
