Interior and Furniture Design

Abigail Walsh

I am a passionate and dedicated interior design graduate with a deep-rooted love for design that began during my studies in art and art history in secondary school and has grown through my time studying interior design. My design style is heavily influenced by mid-century aesthetics, with a strong preference for darker, warm-toned interiors that create an atmosphere of comfort, sophistication, and timeless elegance. I’m particularly drawn to spaces that evoke emotion and character through texture, tone, and thoughtful detail. I approach every project with curiosity and care, always aiming to balance functionality with a unique sense of style. I’m excited to continue developing my skills within a creative, collaborative environment where I can contribute meaningfully to well-crafted, inspiring spaces.

Muse Space

For my thesis, I designed a creative hub in the heart of Dublin that offers flexible studio spaces for designers across disciplines—painters, fashion designers, and music producers—alongside offices for behind-the-scenes work like marketing and production. Currently, Dublin lacks a space that brings together this level of creative infrastructure under one roof. The National Maternity Hospital on Holles Street was chosen for its scale, central location, and architectural richness. Inspired by original stained glass features found in the building, I incorporated those forms into the interior design, blending them with mid-century influences and the warmth of 1970s design. The hub includes six recording studios, two multipurpose art studios, a sewing room, two exhibiton  spaces, ym, bar, and restaurant—spaces that not only support creative work but also foster collaboration and wellbeing. The overall palette of dark, warm tones creates a neutral yet inviting environment that celebrates creativity in all its forms.
