My name is Chloe Doherty Cooke, a 22-year-old final year Interior Design student. Interior design has been a passion of mine from a young age. I’ve always been inspired by the idea of transforming a space into something deeply personal and reflective of its inhabitants. I’m especially drawn to renovation projects — witnessing the transformation from “before” to “after” is incredibly rewarding and reinforces my love for creating meaningful, functional, and beautiful environments.
What excites me most about this field is that every person’s idea of ‘home’ is entirely unique. This constant diversity ensures that no two projects are ever the same, which keeps my work fresh and creatively fulfilling. With a naturally outgoing and energetic personality, I thrive in dynamic environments and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. I am passionate about bringing creativity, enthusiasm, and a client-centred approach to every design I undertake.
In this project, I transformed a standard apartment complex into a luxury end-of-life care home designed to feel like a true home away from home. Moving away from the clinical, hospital-like environments typically associated with hospices, I focused on creating a warm, comforting atmosphere that caters to both patients and their families. Thoughtful design choices, soft finishes, and inviting communal spaces were key in shaping a peaceful, homely environment. I believe end-of-life care should be surrounded by comfort and dignity, and this project reflects my commitment to reimagining hospices as spaces that offer emotional warmth as well as medical support.
