Grad X

Janiela Imperial

I am an interior design student, through this course I have learned how to manage the ways I favour colour, forms that inspire the natural environment around us and how to design them within the space in the freedom of creativity. I enjoy adding playful touches and layers into interior design that allows to create more dimension into a space. Where forms and shapes create irregularity and colour allowing an extension for the tool of adding dimensions into a space. Both qualities have always resonated with the ways I enjoy the experiences I have wherever I am or anything I am doing.

Central Dublin Food culture centre

For my project I have chosen to redesign the interiors for the tropical fruit warehouse that is located along Sir Rogerson’s Quay directly in front of the Samuel Beckett bridge. It has suited my use for holding a food market, restaurant, retail space, venue space and culinary studio. The interior of the building is designed to facilitate the celebration of the growth of the food industry in Dublin. Where people come to share their experimentations of food, locally source, educate a way of celebrating cuisines and celebrating the accomplishments of the growth of the food industry. The design of each of the interiors combines the historical and conceptual elements of the history and location of the original tropical fruit warehouse building with also taking inspiration from the colours and structures of the natural colours we see on a beautifully curated plate of food.
