I am Naomi Patricia, a Furniture and Interior Design graduate whose practice focuses on atmosphere, material sensitivity, and sensory experience. I work between contemporary design and traditional craft, combining industrial materials with hand-finished techniques to create furniture that feels refined, intentional, and emotionally engaging. I am particularly interested in continuing to explore new materials and making processes, developing contemporary pieces that retain a strong sense of craftsmanship through techniques such as gilding, glazing, and clay work.
Strop takes its name from the Romanian word for raindrop and is shaped by personal memories of stillness. It draws from the calm of St. Stephen’s Green and the familiar tranquillity of my grandparents’ home in Romania, two environments linked by a shared sense of softness and reflection. This feeling is echoed in the visual rhythm of raindrops meeting water, which became the central reference for the project, translating that quiet movement into material form.
The collection includes a pair of coffee tables and a sculptural standing cocktail table. The coffee tables are finished in gilded surfaces that shift with light, giving them a subtle sense of depth and warmth. The cocktail table introduces glazed clay components, adding texture and a more grounded, tactile contrast. Together, the pieces explore restraint and richness through material variation, forming a cohesive set that is calm, considered, and quietly atmospheric.
