From a young age, Sarah found excitement in the design of captivating rooms or structures. Sarah has always been drawn to all things design, exhibiting a serious interest in topics like art history, classic design, and even music. During her school years, her enthusiasm was most evident in subjects like art and classical studies, particularly in classical Greek architecture. Therefore, deciding to pursue a career in interior design was a natural choice for her. Throughout the course, Sarah learned of the practice of interior design, developing her skills and expanding her knowledge with passion.
Over the course of four years, Sarah immersed herself within the field, where she worked in two separate interior design stores. These experiences not only broadened her perspective but also provided invaluable insights into the practical aspects of the profession, enriching her understanding of client needs, industry trends, and balance between form and function.
Sinsonhan Spa is a Korean herbal medicinal Spa based in Seoul, South Korea. The building is situated beside the famous Gyeongui Line Park, known for the historical railway line which Japan utilised to transport supplies during the Russo-Japan war. The project takes inspiration from the preserved railway itself. The building spans five floors and has sufficient room for many herbal spa functions. Sarah chose the building due to its rich historical background while viGRAsiting the city last summer.
From the basement featuring a soothing pool to the third floor offering a relaxation centre as a waiting room, Sinsonhan Spa is the perfect place for a relaxing day trip, or possibly an overnight trip. The top floor offers soothing private suites for those who decide to treat themselves to a lengthy spa getaway. One of the most exciting features of this space is the walk-in teahouse based on the ground and first floors. After induldging on a ginseng tea, why not go next door to Nokja, the herbal medicine shop next door? The Spa is complete with a meditation room, hydrotherapy centre, treatment rooms for massages and even a hair and nail salon!
