GradX Journalism

Alison Gussago

My name is Alison Gussago, I’m 22 years old, and I’m a final year Journalism student. I chose documentary as my major this year as I really enjoyed video-related modules in previous years. Having creative freedom was important to me for the major project which is also part of the reason I picked documentary making. My favourite colour is pink, so I decided to make all the posters for my projects this year pink themed.

She Means Business

My documentary, ‘She Means Business’, features the story of 3 women who have their own businesses in Ireland. The main focus is the struggles and triumphs of being a business owner. The business owners featured include Elaine Fitzsimons (The Matcha Bar), Emma Smith (Mrs. Smith’s Bakery), and Sorcha Kelly (Glam Haus Studios). The documentary gives us a sense of what life is like behind the scenes of your favourite shop or service provider.
