I’m in 4th year of the BMus degree. I started playing the guitar when I was 12 after hearing a Led Zeppelin tune and became obsessed with Rock music. It wasn’t until I was 21 that I started learning how to read music. Two years later I began learning Classical guitar and eventually decided to pursue a performance degree and study with Marco Ramelli. In the past 2 years I’ve developed a huge passion for composition and intend to pursue this area at postgraduate level. I’m interested in writing for a variety of instruments as well as writing and performing my compositions on guitar.
The repertoire for my end of year recital includes a combination of early and contemporary music:
Kian Beatty – Cosmic Dust
J.S. Bach – Adagio and Fugue from 1st Violin Sonata, BWV 1001
Toru Takemitsu – Equinox
Francesco Da Milano – Fantasia
John McLachlan – Sympathetic Strings
