This project examines the development of AI software following its widespread public availability, examining the production process from data centres that house server racks to the raw material extraction required for its technical infrastructure. By tracing AI’s evolution through hardware, computing power and resource needs the project provides insight into the systems that sustain its functionality, growth and connections to global power structures.
