I am a product designer from Dublin. For me design is a way by which I can express myself, my communication, and problem-solving skills. I am passionate about playful and emotive designs and exploring these through design for children, interactive education, and the toy industry.
Fine motor skills are one of the key physiological factors in people’s lives, letting them manipulate their hands, feet and face. Delay in fine motor skills may interfere with children’s early childhood stage, impacting their independence, self-esteem and daily activities. CleanCraft STEM Building Blocks aims to stimulate children’s fine motor control by an introduction of playful and imaginative experiences. Various form blocks, shaped as cubes, long and short rectangular prisms, cylinders and cones, let a child to build their own non-electrical cleaning tools. With CleanCraft children are able to explore pretend-play and experience adult responsibilities through household cleaning activities. The playfulness of the concept reinforces healthy relationships between children and cleaning activities, while providing high stimulation to their cognitive development and encouragement of fine motor control, such as change in grip patterns, eye-hand coordination, hand and finger strengths, precision, control and more.
