Product Design

Felicjan (Felix) Pavlak-Chiaradia

I’m Felix, a product design student at TU Dublin. I was born in the USA, grew up in Poland, and now live in Ireland. Having lived in multiple countries and met people from diverse backgrounds, I’ve learned to connect and communicate across cultures, broadening my perspective on design and openness to new opportunities. These experiences have shaped how I approach both design and work. I’m driven by problem-solving, eager to take on complex challenges, and excited to test new ideas. This mindset has helped me in my university projects and in my role as Lead Founding Designer at a US tech startup. With over a year and a half of professional UI/UX experience and a background in physical product design, I’m passionate about bridging the gap between physical and digital products.

Electronics are often discarded due to minor damage, confusion around repair, or lack of replacement parts. To overcome this, all devices need to be made more repairable, to demonstrate how we can do this I designed a pair of modular headphones. They are made for longevity, repairability, and personalization. The headphones work alongside a business model and an app to allow users to extend the life of their devices. With six different modules: drivers, headband, battery, ANC, electronics and padding; are easily replaceable, with the design focusing on the assembly and disassembly process. By lowering the barriers to repair and encouraging user interaction, the design aims to reduce electronic waste and extend product life.
