HydroCore

The HydroCore is an active cooling garment, aimed at protecting construction workers from the dangers of extreme heat. By circulating water through integrating tubing, the surrounding specialised fabric absorbs it, keeping the user cool through periods of intense heat.

Water is held in and pumped into the garment using an accompanying handheld reservoir. When closed, the reservoir is in personal mode and can hold between 200-300ml of water. Enough for 30 minutes of active cooling. When opened, the device can hold up to 1 litre, allowing for periodic cooling throughout the day.

The world is getting warmer. Workers' safety, well-being, and health are at risk. Heat exposure and the risks it carries exist now, and it affects millions of workers worldwide. The approach to combating extreme heat is multifaceted and lies in a range of solutions from physical products to behavioural change. The HydroCore is one part of this movement.
