Kotryna Kurseviciute

Hi, I'm Kotryna, a soon-to-be graduate in Product Design with a passion for creating meaningful, human-centered solutions that help people live meaningful and high-quality lives. My work blends empathy, functionality, and storytelling - aiming to improve lives through thoughtful design. I’m especially drawn to wellness challenges, where I believe design can have a lasting impact. Most recently, I’ve been developing PsoLumi, a psoriasis-monitoring device that empowers patients and supports healthcare professionals with illness and treatment related insights. In product design I enjoy collaboration, systems thinking, and creative problem-solving - always looking for opportunities to turn complexity into clarity.

PsoLumi

Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition that accelerates skin cell growth - leading to inflamed, itchy, and painful skin. Managing a healthy and high-quality life while having Psoriasis requires tracking flare-ups, finding effective treatments, and considering how lifestyle factors may affect the condition which many patients struggle with.

PsoLumi addresses these problems by providing a Psoriasis tracking device with optimal imaging technology and machine learning analysis.

PsoLumi consists of a handheld device aided by an optimized white light ring, a high-resolution camera, and a ToF range finder to capture accurate images of Psoriasis-affected areas and calculate the coverage percentage of Psoriasis on a person. The device pairs with a mobile application where Psoriasis severity data is tracked over time and is analyzed against user-input lifestyle, diet, and treatment information. The goal is to provide individuals with greater insight into potential Psoriasis triggers and treatment effectiveness, aiding in proactive disease management.
