I also see product design as vital in solving some of the biggest problems of today, most notably climate change.

MiachAid Adjustable Prosthetic

The MiachAid Adjustable Prosthetic Socket is a transfemoral (above-knee) socket specifically designed for children aged 10 to 15 living in conflict zones and low-resource settings. It addresses a critical issue: children in these environments rapidly outgrow their prosthetics, often requiring a complete refitting every 6 to 12 months. Due to limited access to medical facilities and the strain on humanitarian health services, frequent refittings are often not feasible. The MiachAid socket is engineered to grow with the user — it offers easy adjustments in both circumference and length, accommodating natural growth and volume fluctuations. This extendable, user-friendly design significantly increases the functional lifespan of the socket, reducing the burden on healthcare providers and ensuring children can remain mobile as they grow.
