I am from Slane in the Boyne Valley region of Co Meath. I have always had a passion for natural beauty and how we as humans have taken inspiration from it for our creations which last throughout time. While studying Product Design, this transferred into a passion for sustainability, repairability, and heirloom design. This has played a pivotal role in my project, as I sought to make a product which improves people’s lives in the short and long term, which allows for human creativity while maintaining function.
The brace is a modular, customizable solution for wrist support which marries choice with function. User research has shown that allowing the user to choose the appearance of their mobility aid increases adoption and proper consistent use.
