VoltGuard

Electric vehicle fires are becoming increasingly more common with the uptake in purchases of these vehicles. Electric vehicle fires are a lot tougher to extinguish than traditional combustion engine fires as they can use anywhere between 3 and 7 times as much water. VoltGuard is an electric vehicle fire extinguishing designed to combat lithium-ion battery fires. VoltGuard works by using pneumatic rams to push a spike through the battery casing allowing access to the battery itself. A mixture of foam and water is used to then smother the fire. This allows for less resources to be used. This product would be available for untrained users to use in places that electric vehicles are typically store such as car parks for shopping centres or apartment complexes.
