Project 1: Key4Life

Teenagers in the UK are increasingly becoming exposed and engaging in carrying and using knives in the streets. In the year ending June 2019, there were 22,306 disposals given for possession of a knife or offensive weapon. Juveniles (aged 10-17) were the offenders in 20% of cases.

The project aims to tackle the problem from 3 different angles. The posters address the reasons why youth may turn to knives, such as: To seek revenge, to cause harm, and for protection. However, they don’t know the full consequences of their actions, which only result in a cycle of crime and sorrow. The secondary aim of the project is to also spread the message to the wider society and make the public more aware of the issue.
