My final year window installation was designed for the Kilkenny Design store. I developed a concept centred around the Irish brand 'Reuzi.' My goal was to reach a younger clientele. Reuzi is a sustainable and eco-friendly brand. My design is about the exploration of organic shapes and textures. I created forms by layering and manipulating various materials, including recycled cardboard, MDF board, expanding foam, plaster, and paint. I spent time carving, sanding, and moulding the materials to create my vision. I wanted to combine delicate florals with raw, imperfect sculptural pieces.
I wanted my window to be impactful to its viewers and to embody the WGSN Spring/Summer 2023 trend, 'Soul-Space.' This trend encompasses the pursuit of inner calm and the nourishment of the soul and spirit. I used a colour palette of uplifting and calming pinks and peaches.
During my internship with Kilkenny Design, small circular plinths were an important element in their window concepts. I wanted my plinths to implement aspects of Kilkenny Design's brand, while having my creative twist. I was massively inspired by Acne Studios' long-term furniture designer Max Lamb and by the design company Odd Matter Studio. The curiosity for all things strange and beautiful drives their designs.
