Styled in Norma Kamali, Steve Madden and Coach. A design inspired by the trend ‘column dressing’. Column dressing consists of straight, close fitted dresses mainly of stretch fabrics. For my major project my aim was to design something on trend that I would feel passionate about, I felt my design captured my love of fabrics and fashion alongside styling and Visual Merchandising. I went for a mature muted vibe yet an extremely effective concept that would showcase my creativity! While creating this project I used MDF, Jersey fabric, paint and A LOT of staples. I stretched the fabric across the MDF boards using the same technique repeatedly. I also created a plinth using this technique giving it a seamless look. I loved working on this project and was delighted with the outcome, I felt proud to have my name featured on my window display in Irelands largest and oldest department store.
