My name is Aimee Cullen Kelly, and I am an Interior Design graduate. Through my designs, I aim to show how it is possible to express yourself creatively and uniquely while maintaining a practical and professional project outcome. I have a love for the brave use of colour in my designs and a conceptual approach, imagining spaces that are environmental and experience based.
My personal style contains aspects of futurism, which was explored in my written thesis also. This is inspired by technology and modern aesthetics, which reflects through my love of using colour, lighting features, as well as structural elements. No matter the type of project, whether it be domestic or hospitality, I appreciate the full process of development of the space. I enjoy curating specific moods and aesthetics, which extend to both vintage and modern, to design spaces that embody the inspirations behind them.

This interior design thesis, GRID X, imagines an immersive entertainment centre, influenced by modern technological advancement. The centre aims to cater for all types of people, whether child or adult, no matter the gender. This design proposes to repurpose of the IDA Advance Technology Building, located in Rathnapish, Co. Carlow.
The addition of this space gives a social space for the community, allowing residents and others alike to have a place for leisure and play. Through its modern and futuristic design, the space allows you to step into a hi-tech experience that is unique to the area. The interior design of the centre is inspired by the modern technology and gaming facilities that are available to the patrons. Through its use of neon colour, reflective surfaces, angular structural elements, and integrated lighting, the centre expresses a futuristic style, taking inspiration from the “Tron” franchise.
