My name is Alisha Carpenter Byrne. I’m an interior design graduate of Technological University Dublin, class of 2026, holding a bachelor’s degree in interior design. I have always had a passion for creativity, which is why I have such a love for interior design. I am passionate about creating thoughtful, functional, and visually engaging spaces. Throughout my degree, I have developed a strong understanding of design styles and refined my personal aesthetic. I have gained experience in industry-standard tools, including SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite. I particularly enjoy the rendering process, where concepts evolve into realistic visualisations and the design is brought to life. I am excited to bring creativity, technical skills, and fresh ideas into my professional career in interior design.
For my design thesis project, I developed ‘Midori’, a five-story wellness centre, integrating a two-story gym, a spa, a swimming pool, and dedicated yoga and Pilates studios. As my largest project to date, it challenged me to think holistically about both functionality and user experience. The concept was inspired by the organic patterns and layered forms of matcha farms. I took all the different forms extracted from the matcha farms and turned them into design features for the wellness centre. I wanted to create a space that has it all when it comes to fitness and wellness. I really enjoyed the design process of this project, and I am very proud of how it turned out.
