GradX Interior and Furniture Design

Chitra Sutton

I am a visually driven and innovative interior designer. My design approach is ambitious and inspired by a strong passion for creativity. I have always been drawn to design and its ability to transform how space looks and feels. From a young age I have had a keen sense of spatial awareness, developing an understanding of the details that bring space to life.

My work is inspired by transformation and reshaping environments into places that are meaningful and visually compelling. I create unique designs with careful attention to detail and bring spaces to life that are not only beautiful but evoke an emotional reaction. I enjoy experimenting with materials, textures, and different colour palettes to create interiors that are balanced and refined. As I continue to grow as a designer, I aim to push creative boundaries and develop interiors that go beyond just aesthetics, altering environments to achieve a feeling of immersion, purpose, and deep connection for the people who experience them.

Vogue Headquarters

Vogue Headquarters is conceived as a luxury fashion building located on West 14th Street in Manhattan. It reimagines the existing d’Orsay Residential Building through the language of haute couture. At the heart of the design concept is the ‘corset’. Its structure, tension, and defining cinched waist informs the spatial identity of the building. This gesture becomes both anchor and movement, drawing people inward before releasing them through a carefully choreographed sequence of spaces.

A sculptural void cuts through three levels, creating moments of connection while establishing fluidity between retail, editorial, and residential spaces. Beyond this, a sense of continuity extends across all eleven floors, where each department operates in quiet dialogue, reinforcing the synergy essential to the creation of Vogue. Soft, flowing forms, layered textures, and shifting light evoke the movement of fabric, creating a deeply immersive, sensory environment. “A space to be worn where structure, movement, and luxury unfold like a garment.”
