My name is Ciara Thiel. From a young age I have been interested in how spaces are designed and experienced, particularly how detail and material choices influence atmosphere and function. As a soon-to-be Interior Design graduate from TU Dublin Grangegorman (2026), with a foundation from Coláiste Dhúlaigh College of Further Education, my work reflects a balance between conceptual thinking and technical development. I am proficient in SketchUp, V-Ray, and AutoCAD, with experience in modelling, rendering, and drawing across a range of project types and scales.
My work includes commercial, residential, and smaller-scale design interventions, allowing me to explore different spatial approaches and user needs. My approach focuses on clarity, functionality, and spatial quality, aiming to create interiors that are both purposeful and visually compelling. I am particularly interested in developing designs that respond thoughtfully to context, materiality, and user experience within contemporary interior design practice today.
Room2 X Dockline
This project proposes the transformation of Dockline in Dublin’s IFSC into a Room2 Hometel, introducing a flexible and lifestyle-led hospitality model. Located along the River Liffey, the building’s scale, natural light, and connectivity make it an ideal candidate for adaptive reuse within Dublin’s evolving urban context. The design balances private and shared spaces, offering a range of accommodation types with integrated kitchenettes for both short and extended stays. Shared amenities include co-working areas, wellness facilities, event spaces, and social environments such as a café, restaurant, and courtyard.
Guided by Room2’s sustainable ethos, the proposal incorporates low-energy strategies, natural materials, and biophilic design. The project reimagines Dockline as a contemporary hotel that enhances user experience while contributing to Dublin’s growing demand for experience-led hospitality.
