I have always had an obsession with two things, sports and media. Not necessarily together but my love for the subjects has grown dramatically through my time in TU Dublin. Writing has always been a favourite. past time of mine, as well as indulging in sports content and wondering what I could do differently to enhance the content. Since the start of my studies in TUD I have had to spend a lot of time commuting so i grew a love for all types of podcasts. Getting to combine three things I now adore, Sports, media and Podcasts into one college project has been a great experience.
Many people before me have written about the problems with gambling, from addiction, to loss, to the extreme in some cases. But not many people are aware of the troubles of online crypto gambling and the issues it can cause. One such issue actually proved to be nothing to do with the usual problems of gambling. It actually came as an attack on journalism for a media platform I have had pieces published for.
‘Attacking Football’ was founded by Paddy Keogh from just up the road here in Dublin. Paddy exposed a certain crypto-gambling company (name redacted for safety reasons) for advertising fake betslips and not operating under the official licenses needed in the UK and Ireland. The article caught fire and the companies response was to attack. Doing their best to take down the source of the issue and get both Paddy and the media platform taken down. The story was barely picked up, until now, on ‘Exposing the House’.
