GradX Journalism

Kelsey Doogan

During my time in secondary school, I thought of many different career choices, but it was during my 5th year English class where I chose Journalism. I loved the art of writing and producing content and sports has always been a passion of mine, so I decided to combine the two and chase a dream career in sports journalism.

Over the last 4 years in TUD, I have grown as a person and hopefully a journalist too. I have learnt many skills and lessons that I will take into my future career. I will continue to write and produce sports-based content in a bid to pursue my passion and hopefully made 17-year-old me very proud for chasing that dream that began back in 2020 in what I thought at the time was a simple English lesson.

Why women drop out of Gaelic Games?

Day in, day out, in small towns or cities across Ireland, women are dropping out of our national sport and this podcast wants to know why. In The Drop, we will be speaking to a  past player and a current coach to see the different perspectives on why women drop out of Gaelic Games and how we can keep them in sports longer and change the drop out trend.
