This project responds to the lack of adherence to injury recovery with a design solution. CTRLtilt is a gamified rehab system designed for users recovering from ankle and Achilles injuries. The system reframes the home rehab experience around an interactive system that includes a custom balance board which is linked to an external console that the user can play games on when connected to an external device such as a TV. A user and physio dashboard give the user progress updates when away from the system, and the physiotherapist insights into the user’s recovery with meaningful data.
The custom balance board consist of two modes, mode 1 exists as a free movement balance board where the user can move in any direction around the pivot of the dome for ankle recovery, mode 2 limits the movement to lateral movement for Achilles recovery by introducing foldable wings onto the board.
