I am Patrycja, a Product Design graduate. I believe that nature can be a huge inspiration for everyday solutions, through how it builds, repairs, creates life and connection. Sea glass captures this perfectly. It starts rough and sharp, worn down by its environment into something new, eye-catching and worth keeping, opening the possibilities for a second life. This kind of quiet transformation and intention is what I aim to bring into my designs. I find myself always drawn to small details, things that do not announce themselves but quietly make someone’s experience better. For me, that is what design is about, bringing attention to these small things that end up mattering the most.
Wingma
Wingma is a dedicated hive-side record keeping tool designed to fit into the beekeeper's inspection workflow. The system consists of a handheld device and an adjustable steel stand attached to each hive, built to stay out of the way. Keeping the beekeeper focused on what matters most. For most beekeepers, records are kept in a notebook, a tool never designed for the apiary. Moving between multiple hives, working in thick gloves through a long list of tasks, record keeping is the first thing that gets forgotten. Without consistent records, treatment windows are missed, diseases go undetected, and small problems become big ones.
Designed to slot directly into the workflow, the device snaps on magnetically, scanning an NFC tag that instantly loads the previous inspection on the e-ink display. A glove-friendly d-pad navigates the customisable checklist, with trend-based suggestions keeping the beekeeper on track, without taking over the practice.
