I am a product designer with a passion for building community and human connection, both through the collaborative design process and with the experiences the outcomes create. With my designs, I aim to encourage active participation and curiosity as opposed to passive consumption.
Throughout my studies I have been drawn to projects that combine education, community, and sustainability. I value playfulness within the creative process and user experience. I enjoy creating experiences that combine storytelling and human-centered design.
An interactive learning system that enables children to explore the hidden soil and fungi ecosystems through constructive play, planting and real nature interaction. The system includes: constructable fungi network pieces, real plant growth, and nature exploration prompt cards to translate invisible ecological relationships into tangible experiences.
The user builds a physical representation of fungi networks, then is guided through outdoor exploration and encouraged to question their discoveries before revealing explanations. Throughout the experience, the child cares for real plant growth and collects role-based tokens when discoveries are made. These role pieces are gradually added to the planter box to create a visual representation of their learnings over time.
Curiosity and fascination are prioritised over passive observation or heavy instruction. By focusing on fascination over facts, Living Links aims to strengthen children’s emotional connection to the natural world.
