Hi, I’m Adam and going into this course I was unsure of what I wanted to do. TUD allowed me to experience every aspect of the filmmaking process through both production and theoretical approaches. Through the duration of the course, I wanted to be involved in the creative process of filmmaking but also really enjoyed the technical aspect of it. As an aspiring Director of Photography (DoP), I found the role allowed me to explore both of these avenues and use cameras and lighting to transform a story from an idea in the director's head into an image on a screen. I have gotten to work in this position multiple times throughout the past four years. As part of that role, I got some experience with colour grading and took a strong interest in it. I learned of the importance of the connection between both roles, and it expanded my skillset in both on-set production as a DoP and post-production as a Colourist. I have also loved the social side of college life – I am the proud outgoing president of TU Dublin’s Film Society, which had the largest growth of any other society this year. Through it I have formed lasting friendships and memories all rooted in a love of film. The past four years have been incredible – TU Dublin has left a lasting impression on me and I will miss my time spent here. I cannot wait to see what the future holds!
