Hands That Build Dublin is a poetic documentary that focuses on the often overlooked actions that sustain the city. I began observing things in my everyday more deeply and writing down small things and actions I appreciated. I found that most of the things and actions I focused on were what people were doing with their hands or the result of what hands made. The poetic voiceover was written in response to everyday observations, to guide the viewer through the rhythms of Dublin life. The concept is rooted in the idea of making the familiar visible again by taking what is typically unnoticed and reframing it as essential.
