Romy O’Connell

Hi, I am Romy O’Connell and a graduate of Film and Broadcasting. I have a keen interest in compelling stories and challenges that people face and found myself being drawn to the medium of documentary making. It is this interest that drove me to help share often untold stories and offer audiences a new perspective on the people around them. During my time at TU Dublin, I found my niche in directing and producing. I have directed two short documentaries, My Name Is Noah (2024), which explores the legal hurdles of the trans experience, and Invisible Legacy (2026), an investigation into how the past stays with us. I enjoy the challenges and logistics of producing and was a producer on Murder in Bundoran (2023), Taoiseach 25 (2025) and Hands That Build Dublin (2025). I have always loved art and enjoy working in the art department, as it relies on creativity.
