My name is Tom Tinley. This year I will be a graduate of TU Dublin with a BA in Film and Broadcasting. This course has proven to me that the art of filmmaking is my true calling, and I have found myself particularly drawn to the visual side of the art form such as lighting and learning about camera angles. I have also enjoyed my many instances as 1st Assistant Director for multiple directors where I often acted as a bridge between the technical and creative sides of a given project. The collaborative aspect of this role has always appealed to me, and I have been lucky to work under many talented directors. While I hope to build a career in directing, I have enjoyed my work in various other positions such as boom operator, grip, and location sound. My time in this course has been highly valuable and enjoyable.
