GradX Game Design

Siabhra Doyle

Hello! My name is Siabhra. My interest in Game Design first began at a young age following tutorials to make games in Unity, from there I had pursued a degree in Computer Science before shifting my focus to pursuing Game Design. I’ve had the pleasure of working with several different people across several different projects during my studies, most notably Tightrope and Death Petal, in which the former won an IMIRT Irish Game Award. On Death Petal I was in charge of audio integration and assisted with the programming role. I’m super proud of the how the project has developed and was fortunate to work with an amazing team. I’m a massive fan of mechanics in games which challenge the player in unique ways and introduce friction in creative ways. Some recent examples of my favourite mechanics have been Death Stranding’s aversion to combat, Hellblade’s perma-death bluff and Dragons Dogma’s 2 Dragonsplague mechanic. After graduation I hope to continue this career and interest and create the type of games that I’ve enjoyed playing so much.
