My name is Natalia Kryszczynska and I am an interior design graduate with a passion for creating atmospheric, cinematic spaces that evoke emotion and tell a story. I am particularly inspired by the character of historic buildings, often drawing inspiration from older structures and their distinctive facades to reimagine heritage within a contemporary context. My design approach focuses on the “why” behind each project - carefully considering how people move through and interact with transitional spaces and ensuring that every layout serves an intentional purpose. I am deeply interested in how materiality, light, and colour work together to shape spatial experience, influencing how a space is perceived and felt. Influenced by Art Deco and contemporary styles, I aim to blend elegance with modern expression, pushing boundaries to create immersive, refined interiors that feel both personal and grounded while maintaining a strong sense of identity.
I have interned with Hiddleston Design throughout 3rd and 4th year and was given the opportunity to work on DIY SOS Ireland in 2025. Seeing concepts realised for such worthy clients has enriched my experiences and increased my passion for the value of interior design and its impact on people’s lives.
‘The Aurelia’ is a proposed entertainment venue situated on O’Connell Street in the heart of Limerick City. In this project, I reimagine the vacant Art Deco Debenhams building, transforming a historic landmark into a vibrant, multipurpose destination for live performance and social interaction. Rooted in Limerick’s rich musical culture, I designed the venue to accommodate jazz performances, intimate gigs, and stand-up comedy, expanding the city’s existing cultural landscape. Drawing inspiration from the sculptural form and materiality of Art Deco coupe glassware, I aimed to evoke a sense of elegance and celebration, creating a lively and energetic environment where performance and social interaction intersect. Through a combination of performance, retail, rehearsal studios, offices and social spaces, I envision ‘The Aurelia’ as an immersive entertainment destination, attracting local audiences and international artists while contributing to Limerick’s evolving creative scene.
